I am Melissa

I’m so happy you’re here and that you found C2CB. I want you to know that not only am I happy to serve you, but I have had my own skin care struggles, so what you come to me with is very close to my heart.

For as long as I can remember, beauty has been a part of my life and something I’ve always been in love with. At a young age I would watch my grandmother Adrienne get ready in her big mirror, while skillfully painting on her brows. She would always ask me to leave the room because she wanted time alone, but I would creep in there just to watch her. Her transformation was always mesmerizing, and when she entered the room, she was stunning. Always captivating an audience.

My first bit of makeup was from Hanukkah from my mom when I was a little girl. I got a Tinker Bell makeup set, and it followed me everywhere.

My Journey

When I was in high school…

I was the person doing everybody’s hair and makeup. I loved making people feel really good about themselves and it’s still a motivator today.

My start was in a salon in the early 2000s. My boss signed me up for an apprenticeship to become a cosmetologist, but I had other plans. My love for people’s faces quickly transferred to a job working for Sephora, where I was one of the lead makeup artist. When I realized that college really wasn’t for me, and that I wanted to make a real stab at this professionally, I decided to leave the DC area and go to Los Angeles. I was gone within a month; this was an amazing time for me. I grew so much professionally and my makeup career took me to so many amazing places. I got to work with famous and renowned photographers, other hair and makeup professionals, and tons of amazing individuals that made all of these projects and sets come together.

When I decided that I wanted to move back East to the DMV, I knew that the makeup industry was going to be way different than the one I fell love with in LA. I always had a love for skin and I struggled with cystic acne in my early 20s. I decided to enroll in aesthetic school. I had truly found my calling. Here was a job where I got to work for myself, help people, and be involved in something that I found to be fascinating

Today, Cheek 2 Cheek Beauté is exactly what I want it to be

Seeing people on an individual basis, working on my own terms, being able to create the most customized treatment for what that client is going through or what they are looking for, and of course helping my clients feel their very best. This is truly my dream. Each time I get a new client I get to refocus my energy and figure out what is best going to suit them.

  • I’d call Melissa a magician with skin, but in fact it’s just her extreme level of knowledge and care that get you her amazing results. Melissa has transformed my skin. I’ve had acne since I was a preteen, including adult acne, and it got terrible following my second pregnancy always had acne.   Medication helped somewhat, but that’s when I found Melissa, and now finally in my late 30s (!) my skin is the best it’s ever been.  To the point I get multiple compliments from friends and colleagues asking me what my secret is.   • I’ve been seeing Melissa for years for my brows and lip wax (but have also received underarm waxing and facials). She’s absolutely amazing! One of my brows is noticeably higher than the other and I’ve had so many estheticians and even esthetics instructors struggle to do them.
